The Lever Building, 85 Clerkenwell Road ISG

The building, a former Victorian warehouse, was re-designed with the structure and floors remaining. The mechanical and electrical works were required to meet current day standards but tailored to the existing physical restraints. The building has taken on a raw look with all the services being fully exposed; the building had limited space for plant and this too was incorporated within the new look. Owing to this Michael J Lonsdale had a close working relationship with the design teams, specifically TTPP and Arup.
Mechanical systems installed include BMS, VRF, AHUs, local water heating, sanitaryware and showers, boosted CW, PH, DHW, ventilation, toilet ventilation, condensate drainage and powder coated primary ductwork with internally lined secondary ductwork. Electrical services included LV switchgear, power distribution and landlord/tenants risers, earthing, lightning protection, fire alarm, lighting control, general and emergency lighting, disable refuge, security and access control. The look and feel of the building compliments the Clerkenwell locale and revert the Lever Building back to its iconic status.
